An AlphaLISA® Workstation – A Complete Solution for Immunoassay Simplification, Improved Performance, Maximized Throughput, Increased Sensitivity, & Assay Cost ReductionPresenter Ken Neumann, PerkinElmer LAS, USA
Additional Authors: Dianne Brazzil and Gary ReznikAlphaLISA® chemistry, offered by PerkinElmer, is the next generation technology intended to replace ELISA in the areas in which ELISA is the industry standard, such as drug discovery, pre-clinical trials, and basic research. AlphaLISA allows for the ability to run large numbers of samples with a small sample volume in a homogenous environment, excellent sensitivity, and an expanded dynamic range relative to ELISA, all at room temperature and without the need for plate washing. Plate densities of 96-, 384-and 1536-wells are accommodated.
In order to make the AlphaLISA assay a true HTS assay, lower the labor and material costs, and increase throughput and productivity, a family of JANUS® AlphaLISA® Workstations has been developed. This poster presents several workstation configurations defined by the level of automation and integration with various PerkinElmer-made options such an EnVision® plate reader, PlateStak® hotels, and a noncontact reagent dispenser, FlexDrop®. The performance data demonstrating throughput, accuracy, and sensitivity of the AlphaLISA assay performed on JANUS AlphaLISA Workstation are presented as well.
The JANUS AlphaLISA Workstation configurations include the smallest, semi-automated JANUS MDT Mini WS, the mid-sized JANUS Integrator with the Varispan® and Gripper arms, and, for very high-throughput situations, a three arm JANUS platform. The latter two JANUS configurations offer full automation of an AlphaLISA assay.
JANUS AlphaLISA Workstation is shown to serve as a PerkinElmer-delivered turnkey solution for anyone who is currently using ELISA or considering using immunodetection-based methods. Session Advances in Assay Technology
