Evaluation of AequoZen™ Frozen Cells Starter Kit using the Aequorin Option for the FLIPR TETRA® System

The FLIPR Tetra system equipped with the aequorin option is a flexible and reliable high-throughput screening solution for identifying early leads during drug discovery. The intensified CCD camera provides users with the flexibility to adjust to the appropriate signal window for detection of bright fluorescent as well as varying intensities of aequorin luminescent assays. In this study, the FLIPR Tetra system with aequorin option is used to evaluate performance of the AequoZen frozen cells starter kit. This starter kit includes CHO-K1 cells transfected with mitochondrially targeted aequorin and receptors coupled to Gq. Histamine H1 and Muscarinic M5 cells are evaluated, representing a strong and weaker calcium response, respectively.
