Evaluation of Nanoliter Transfer using Acoustic Droplet EjectionPresenter Shekeba Ahmadyar, Roche, USA
Additional Authors: Christine Everett, Peter ThanaIn recent years, the advancement of high-throughput screening techniques has led to miniaturization and automation of biological assays. The need for low volume dispensers has been driven by compound conservation, cost reduction, DMSO concentration minimization and compound preparation time. We have evaluated the Echo 555 non-contact dispenser’s low volume transfer capability to create serial dilution curves and compared it with previously established methods. We compare the Echo’s single volume transfer with PocketTips’ transfer using fluorescent measurements to evaluate accuracy and precision. We also compare Echo’s variable volume transfer to generate dose-response curves with the Platemate Plus’ serial dilution capability. We have further validated the accuracy of the dispensing steps using standard compounds in a fluorescent based biological assay.
